Hey!
This is my foundations final project at Think Tank, we had to choose an artwork from either a movie, videogame or concept, and while I was looking for inspiration, I fell in love with Thomas Dubois project called Chateau Noir / Part II, the overall mood and story of his work was amazing, so I decided to try to recreate one of his images.
It was quite a challenge because the main focus for this project, aside from the modularity, was lighting the scene and matching the camera with the original image, as I don't have a lot of experience with that part of the 3D workflow.
With this project and what I learned on the foundations term, I was able to create a render that left me satisfied with the final result, and I learned how to use new software such as VRay and Nuke (which I still don't like the UI and workflow).
I want to thank Isaac Zuren for all the guidance, amazing advice and tricks he gave me for this project. He is a fantastic teacher with an incredible amount of knowledge that has helped me grow as an artist. I'm really happy that I ended up in his group.
Big thanks to Edu Morales for also helping me with this project, he gave me great feedback that made me understand parts that could have improved and why, and also for keeping me in check so that I won't bite off more than I can chew xD
